Research workshops are playing a central role in the life of the network. On the one side they strengthen scientific exchanges between participating universities and industries. On the other side, they also allow the Network management to implement and monitor the dynamic resources allocation scheme developped in the framework of the network. Beyond scientific activites, a large amount of time was devoted in this first workshop to familiarizing the different participants to the controlling system setup by Cristina Brun, our workshop manager. Controlling and assessing the scientific perfomance and the return on investment is indeed a key to the 6th Framework Programme.
